Tax Time Giveaway

To celebrate finishing up our taxes and getting them e-filed this afternoon (phew) I have a giveaway.  I found this extra lone little inkling ornament/desk décor that I made for holiday 2012 gifts......not sure why I had an extra or why I forgot I had it. Anyhow this one is "She Sells Sea Shells"......made out of a handwoven inkle band, adorned with sandcastles and shells. All you need to do is leave a comment to this post on what you love about the beach, whether it be an ocean beach, a lake beach or river beach. On Monday morning I'll draw a name using random.org and announce the winner.  Be sure to check back to see if you've won as many times there is no way for me to contact winners.

  1. The air, I simply adore the smell of salt air and the sea spray on blustery day. I haven't had a lot of time at West Coast beach, but the Maine coast is my favorite of the eastern seaboard.
The inkling is adorable. Whoever gets it will be lucky and congrats on the taxes!

  2. Gosh, that inkling is darling, Cindie! I love the colors at a beach--all the tones of blues & greens in the water, as well as all the shades of sand & rocks. The sound of waves is something I love, too. Too bad I live 4 hours from the ocean, altho that's an improvement over 15!

  3. She's so cute!! What don't I love about the beach? Warm sand, cool water, the sound of the waves, the smell. I try to get over to the coast every year, but even a visit to the lakes and rivers around here give solace to my soul.

  4. Congrats on completing your taxes-task. Here in Canada, the deadline is April30, so I still have a bit of a window.
Love your inkling, so very cute. I remember seeing others that you made, in past posts,
I am with Theresa......... the smell of the salt air. When I get to the ocean, the first thing I do is close my eyes, and take a long, deep breath (all the way to my toes!), enjoying every second of the rush through my body, Fortunately I live only 20 min, from the beach at White Rock. One of my favourite spots is Long Beach on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Roaring surf, salt air and the glorious ocean wind, My Dad was a 3rd generation West Coast commercial fisherman, so I suppose you could say that salt water races through my blood,

    1. And that's why I couldn't live in the middle of the country even if there are beautiful places - need to live close to the ocean.......growing up on the east coast, now living on the west coast.

Spring is here but we kind of missed winter - had one snow back in November and extremely cold weather during that time frame - mild the rest of the winter - the ski resort couldn't even open due to no snow - going to be another bad fire season, already heard about a grass fire yesterday.

  6. I love the beach it is one of my favorite ways to relax. It doesn't matter if I am walking the beach with the dogs, swimming or just loving the scenery. That little girl reminds me of walking the beach and enjoying the sights, water, sand, shells and the beautiful islands in the distance. I would treasure this little one…..milokaimushu@aol.com…..
