Updates

I finally got around to taking pictures of some scarves and shawls (both hand-dyed silk and woven) for the etsy shop - one of my dreaded chores as I'm not very good at it.  These two scarves are off the same hand-dyed warp - the top scarf I used a teal weft, the one below a fuchsia weft.

Update on my other etsy shop with fibers - I'm having a sale on all hand-dyed roving and yarn until it's gone. As I've said recently here I'm no longer going to be dyeing roving for sale, it's taking away from my weaving time. But I will continue to sell the Ashland Bay rovings. I'm anxious to empty the bins with the hand-dyed rovings so I can reorganize the others and hopefully have room to set up the treadmill again. There are a lot of bins - the biggest bins that can be bought........

And an update on the shawl that has been mailed off to the Lyric Opera in Chicago.  It's going to be worn by a lead in the new production of the Mariachi Opera called El Pasado Nunca Se Termina which plays on March 28th.

Roving on Sale

I've just put this roving on sale in my fiber etsy shop in the Sale section of the shop.  It's Superwash Blue Face Leicester. I don't know why it doesn't sell well - it takes dye beautifully and is a dream to spin. Is there a stigma because it's a superwash fiber? I don't know. I just know I've spun quite a bit of it and love it. It's regularly $14.60 for 8oz - it's on sale for $10.95. I have seven 8oz bags left, sale price will be in effect until it's gone.

no weaving once again....

Once again a day without weaving....there was laundry & vacuuming, boxing up & shipping of orders and then the dreaded photography work in order to sell more. This is one of my hardest jobs, I'm just not good at it. So, I spent the better part of the afternoon photographing 14 items for my etsy shop....now I'll spend a good deal of time editing and resizing them....not to mention gradually listing them. Where is that photography department when I need it, oh yeah, I don't have one....come to think of it I don't have a shipping and receiving department either.....

On another note - I'll be starting to dye roving again soon so I'm putting some older colorways in my etsy shop on sale - 6 went on sale today....shameless plug.... 

Select rovings on sale.....

I've just added 4 rovings to the sale section of my etsy shop. These are colonial wool, which is what Ashland Bay calls Corriedale. Very easy to spin, great for felting. They're now 25% off until they're gone. Time to think about winter sales to clear out old colorways to make room for new.

On another note, this morning is a better morning, to start with coffee is brewed perfectly, there's nothing better than a perfect cup or coffee or tea.
