Today I took this newly dyed roving plus some others from another 2 days of dyeing to my spinning group. Thank you friends for lightening my load, even selling out of 2 colorways........I knew I should have put some of each of those aside before I went, I love them both.....oh well.....when I pull out the acid dyes next I'll have to try and duplicate them for myself. Now these are up for sale in my etsy shop. Such a relief deciding not to dye more roving for sale......hopefully that decision will get me more time at the loom.

More roving for sale........
I got the 80% Merino/20% Tussah Silk blend roving
ready for sale this afternoon, no time to get it listed in the etsy shop at the moment, other things to move on to but it will be listed and ready to purchase soon. I was mostly going for monochromatic colorways but something happened on that orange one.......not sure what, I must have temporarily lost my mind.......but I have high hopes that when I spin up the sample it will look great as yarn. Update - it's now listed in the shop.
Newly dyed roving for sale
Yes, a shameless plus - roving dyed earlier this week is now listed in my etsy shop for sale. Roving dyed yesterday will be listed as soon as it's dry and prepared for sale so stay tuned.
50% Alpaca/30% Merino/20% Silk
60% Merino/40% Bamboo
100% Merino

New roving in etsy shop
I spent just about all day today finishing putting together more felting kits that had sold out, weighing, bagging, labeling roving and putting it into stock. I'm just starting to list new and sold out colorways. The four rovings above are brand new colorways of merino from Ashland Bay - they are listed in the shop now. I can't wait to spin up samples to see how they look spun up, I'll be adding the pictures of the handspun in the etsy listings once I get them done. Previously sold out felting kits are back up for sale in the shop. More previously sold out colorways of roving to be listed over the weekend.
Where do my hours go? I thought I'd get the roving job finished up mid-day, then I'd make some blueberry jam and maybe run the vacuum......needless to say it's lucky that I'm making dinner after finishing up with the roving.

More hand-dyed roving.....
I've
just listed more hand-dyed roving for sale in my etsy shop - this time the Merino/Tencel I dyed a couple weeks ago. I love the sheen on this fiber and I love spinning it. It's beautiful to nuno-felt with too.

Roving for Sale
Here's some of the newly hand-dyed roving that's now up for sale in my etsy shop.......finally up for sale. It's 50% Merino/25% Bamboo/25% Tussah Silk - it's a dream to spin. Tomorrow Merino/Tencel will show up in the shop. I didn't have time to get any of this listed before I left for the ANWG conference last Wednesday, just back last night and trying to play catch-up today. I'll give a conference report later - Bailey has been patiently waiting for a walk since 7am so we better go.........

Sale - Hand-dyed Rovings
Thought I'd share the picture of hand-dyed rovings on sale, 25% off, in my etsy shop. If anyone is interested go to my shop and click on the Sale Section to see them without having to wade through all the other roving. There is superwash merino, merino, falkland, colonial, corriedale cross, blue face leicester, black blue face leicester and wensleydale. These are the last of these colorways - need to make room for new colorways. I can't wait to get back to the dyepots - I keep thinking warm weather is coming but spring got lost somewhere on it's way to Oregon..............

New handpainted roving for sale
Here are some pix of the roving dyed at the end of last week - some colors are limited, others I have up to 4 pounds of at the moment. Above are pictures of the blue face leicester. Below are pictures of wensleydale. Worked on cleaning up the loom room, piles were everywhere...roving and such. After clearing some floor space I warped up the loom with 8 yards of rayon chenille for three scarves in teal and olive, first scarf woven, hopefully will get loom time tomorrow to finish up that warp so another can go right on.Monday, August 17, 2009
Corriedale Cross Roving
Here's the newest hand-dyed roving - Corriedale Cross from Friday's dye day - have anywhere from 8 oz to 3 pounds of a colorway for sale. The dyepots have been put away for a bit - starting tomorrow I'll be spending 5 days demonstrating at the fair..........no, not political demonstrating but spinning..........no, not on a stationary bike with sweat oozing out from every pore on my body.........a spinning wheel and drop spindle! Will get back to the dyepots sometime after the fair when the temps permit. Today........most of it hopefully spent at the loom. Wednesday, July 15, 2009
Falkland Hand-dyed Roving
Here's a sampling of the Falkland roving I dyed on Monday & Tuesday. Sure am glad I finished that up because today it's way too hot to be outside working. There are anywhere from 1-4 pounds of colorways. All of these will eventually be making their way to my etsy shop over the next month. I've been working on plying the last couple of nights - why does it seem like it takes forever to ply two bobbins??? I know I'm spinning thin but.........it's sooo boring to ply. Anyhow, one bobbin of plied yarn is full and I'll get it wound into a skein tonight.

Roving for Sale
When I posted the bfl roving yesterday I had wanted to post these but blogger was being very tempermental - had a heck of a time getting that post up and it just wouldn't let me get another one done - some sort of error - things seem to be working fine this morning. So the blue on the left (Blue Ice) and yellow in the center (California Sun) are both a merino/bamboo blend (60/40) - Blue Ice is sold. On the right is a merino/tencel blend called Lilac - some of that has made it up in the etsy shop, more to come, California Sun is available for sale but not up in the shop yet. These are all a dream to spin.
After yoga this morning today is dye Falkland Wool day - have around 20 pounds of it to dye, would love to get it finished up tomorrow but who knows - will be having visitors to watch dyeing, to dye and to shop the Ashland Bay fibers both days.
