I had planned on winding a shawl warp today but I just can't seem to do it - what I want to do most is nest at the loom but by the time I finished up other mundane chores and pulling roving orders to mail I just didn't have it in me to start winding a warp.
And then there are 4 knit shawlettes waiting to be blocked. Although not productive at the loom I am productive working on holiday/birthday gifts. But who feels like getting on the floor to get the first one blocked........not me, at least not today.........
So I've pulled another ball of yarn to knit yet another shawlette, not sure how this one will look at it moves from color to color - will be fun to find out. I am pretty excited about getting gifts made early this year - no panicking for me come November this year. I might just go turn on the Sunday evening episode of Downton Abbey and get this shawlette started and not worry about being productive at the loom today...........
I've been having a lot of days like that lately. In fact, all last week I wanted to measure out a warp and start a weaving project but I never even got my warping board out.
ReplyDeleteIt'll be fun to see how that yarn works out in your shawlette!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog, reading my lonnnng post, and taking the time to leave your comment and support. It means a lot! I want to write you back but your comment has a "no reply" and no email address. I thought for sure that I had your email address but it doesn't come up when I search in my email. If you'd like, send it to me. I'd love to reply in more depth to your thoughtful comment. Hugs!
I think I've got your email address so I'll drop you a note.
DeleteI ended up totally changing the yarn I was going to use for the shawlette, I was a little worried about how it would look - maybe too stripey. I switched to a red that has long lengths of color but all one shade of red. I just got the shawlette started, will post a picture once I get further along.
Me too! I've been spinning my wheels all day with weaving or sewing. I did get some things organized and made room for the scads of yarn from my Dad's stash.
ReplyDeleteI need to get myself into the sewing salon and have a little fun with all that fabric I got.
No doubt we'll all be perkier soon. :-)
Hi, sorry to leave this comment on your lovely yarny post - of which I will return to read more later now that I have found you! I just read your comment over at Acorn to Oak and wanted to say how sorry I am that you are able to comment about that matter so eloquently. We are in a similar situation - especially with the driving - and I know it only to well. Anyway, Don't know what else I wanted to say, but there you go! Please don't feel you have to publish this and you can delete it if you wish! xx
ReplyDeleteNice to meet you Amy. I visited your blog quickly but will go back a bit later today when I have time.
