Bluster Bay Shuttles

Sharon asked what my shuttle was in the pic from yesterday. It's a Bluster Bay shuttle. I have many many shuttles, all different makers, all wonderful but my all time favorites are the Bluster Bay ones. They feel comfortable in my hands, they are so smooth and soft and I just love touching them. Above are my BB shuttles - 4 different woods, all the same design plus a recently acquired end feed shuttle. They also have many other styles. For my weaving comfort I want light so I stand at their booth picking up shuttles to find the best weight for me - the same style shuttle will differ greatly depending on the type of wood. In looking at their site to find the address to add a link to this post I see they'll be at the NWRSA conference in June - oh, big trouble since I'll be there too!

  1. They're beautiful shuttles! I'm definitely going to try to find one to hold in my hand and see what I think. I really could use another shuttle or two.

  2. Beautiful assortment. Are those the bull nose BB shuttles? I returned one of the bull nose shuttles, it just didn't have enough nose to make grabbing comfortable, got one of the pointy nosed ones in stead and like it much better. My fav's still the Jenkins, but only because the bobbin pin comes all the way up.

  3. Yes, they are the bull nose. I haven't tried the pointy ones......hmm, will see him up at nwrsa in June, do I already have something on my shopping list?! They've never come to that conference before but since it's practically in their backyard I guess they are - it's a spinning conference but they have lots of other equipment spinners would love too.

  5. Thanks - I'll have to order blindly. I have no idea where I'd have to go to hold a shuttle. I like the bull nose because they don't scoop that occasional looser warp. I'm not a position to migrate to the end-feed system, but I still need one more shuttle. Your shuttles are gorgeous!
