Progress on holiday 'stuff'. Gifts almost done, just a few finishing touches, a few left to sew but since they're for local family stockings. I've almost got cards finished, will finish them up in the morning and get them mailed. They're not actually handwoven this year but a picture of my handwoven piece mounted on a dark green or dark red card - boundweave santas with trees and gifts.
You wove that? Wow! Very impressive! A great idea to photograph it for cards too. Very cute.
ReplyDeleteYes, boundweave is easy and very fun to weave and this is only on 4 harnesses. The design is worked out on graph paper (although this one is not original) and then weave several shots for each square on the graph, it all depends on what your weft is. It makes a thick fabric which means sending a picture is the way to go, too thick to go for one stamp if I sent the real thing. I've done some 8H boundweave too - really intricate designs can be made with 8.
ReplyDeleteReally really spectacular design! Love them. Nice job Cindie, while easy, I always find color changes times consuming. You haven't happened to see donkey's or reindeers have you? ;)
ReplyDeleteNo, haven't seen any donkey's or reindeers but if you can graph it, it can be woven.
ReplyDeleteHow did you thread the 4 harness loom for the santas, trees and gifts? Is it 1234321 or some other threading? I have woven some boundweave and really enjoy it. Thanks, Tia
ReplyDeleteThe threading was 14321234
DeleteThat particular design was from Handwoven Magazine - Sept/Octo 1994
