Weaving the day away.......

I got to spend quite a bit of time at the loom today on a painted tencel warp - first scarf I used a chartreuse weft - a favorite color of mine.......

.....next scarf a medium teal weft........

......final scarf a dark teal weft........

Has anyone else watched any of the new Netflix Original Series Grace & Frankie?  It stars Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston. A friend and I spent yesterday afternoon noshing and watching the first four episodes. We both got tickled over it and will get together a few more times to watch the rest of the 13 episodes. It was really nice to spend the afternoon doing something decadent.....usually I'm way to driven to spend an afternoon watching tv.....I'm looking forward to the next get together.

I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend.

  1. Gorgeous! I must try tencel some day. Do you use acid or fiber-reactive dyes for it? I know it's a cellulose, but I seem to remember something about someone using acids. (which is what I have)

I've seen the ad on Netflix for the series, but haven't checked it out.

    1. I use fiber reactive dyes. I've never tried using acid dyes on cellulose fibers so I'm not sure how they'd work, if it's a different process or what.

  4. I love all those scarves and the colors are making me fiber envious! Believe it or not chartreuse is one of my most favorite colors to work with, then fuchsia, magenta hmmm, do you see a pattern developing here? I guess I love most colors!! LOL!!!

Yes, yes, I have watched the entire series, I love Lilly Tomlin especially... I really like some of her outfits, wish I could sew! Of course Jane Fonda is still drop dead gorgeous but I could never ever even dream of being that skinny (I'm actually one of the rather plump gals so that skinny always makes me wonder if she ever gets to eat anything besides a leaf of lettuce now and again, lol!!! Anyway, I just love the show. I do hope there will be another season...
Hugs from your newest follower and a brand new weaver and spinner,

    1. Welcome Beth - many thanks for following my blog!
Yes, Jane Fonda looks great but personally I think she's too thin, almost too thin to look healthy - but I should look so good at her age!
