On the wheel.......

I decided to start spinning something new when over on the coast and hopefully not leave it sitting on the bobbins for years. Someone gave me this fiber and it's lovely to spin. it's 40% angora, 30% wool, 15% silk and 15% alpaca. The color is actually a bit prettier than this photo of the bumps.  I can't remember if I have 8oz - it's at the beach cottage so I can't check.

This is what it's looking like on my Lendrum wheel although this picture doesn't represent the actual color - it's beautiful. I think it will make a lovely scarf or cowl.

I'm in the process of warping up my table loom for a workshop in around a month......more to come on that.

Wool Bamboo Devore

Here's the second devore sample - the purple is 2/24 merino wool, the black is Bambu 12. The design isn't really a design, just a shape I cut out to make the stencil, it's a sample afterall.

Apricot handspun

Just thought I'd post a pic of my latest handspun - it's spun from merino roving that I dyed here in my studio - love the way it turned out. There are 755 yards so I'm thinking of knitting a shawl with it.

Spent part of the day twisting fringes on tencel scarves, will be adding some beading to them next, will post some pictures once that's done. I've done lots of beading on scarves either by add beads onto the fringe and twisting them or by hemming the scarf and adding a fancy beaded fringe to them. But recently Susan, of the blog Thrums, showed her beaded fringes in which she beads in-between the twisted fringes, I'm thinking I'll give that a try on some of these scarves. Was thrilled to see yet another way to add sparkle to a scarf.
