Photography Challenge - X is for.........

This weeks alphabet photography challenge letter is 'X'. I had many ideas but short on time I only took a photo of one of them. X's on the calendar - these are very important X's - they are marking down the days until Sam retires at the end of the year - whoo hoo. He will still work a week a month thru April to help with the company transition but officially he is retired on December 31st. But no fear, he will have plenty to keep himself busy with clearing of brush and dead trees on our 5 acres amongst a multitude of other projects. And he promises he will take over shipping, receiving and inventory control of the fiber side of my business - whoo hoo big time. This will give me back much needed time at the loom and to work on other fiber arts & crafts I've been missing this past 6 months as the fiber side of the business takes more and more of my time.

It's time again for the alphabet photography challenge - I had a whole list of ideas for V but I just didn't have the time this week.....maybe I'll do better next week with W, Y might be ok.......X and Z will be really challenging. I can't believe there are only 4 weeks left of the challenge.

find out more about  it but nothing - has anyone else heard of a Toppcat?

UPDATE:  Friend Nadine suggested Toppcat wasn't the model name but something
the owner  put on to customize the vehicle. Hubby Sam took one look at the
photo and said it's a 1955 Pontiac Star Chief, his sister's first husband had one

Photography Challenge - R is for.......

It's that time of the week again for the photography challenge - this week's letter is R - I didn't get the all important photo of the Rogue River and just couldn't get myself out of the house today to get one.

Photography Challenge - Q is for.......

Here is this week's alphabet photography challenge - Q is for......  I can't believe this challenge that Benita came up with is almost over - only 9 more weeks left.

Queens

Quacker - this is a little quacker for the bathtub - I get one every year when I buy the Twin Quack package for the Duck Race down the Rogue River that was this past Saturday. This is a benefit for the community - each year they pick 3 charities. There were almost 10,000 ducks bought this year at $10 each.....and once again I won nothing.......

....and here's a giant Quacker, one of many set up around town enticing everyone to buy ducks.

Quail - yeah, it's a fake one, our last property had quails, this one doesn't

Quote - friend Kathy G made this for me one year for Christmas - it had cookies too.

Quilt - crazy quilt to be exact. Sam's maternal grandmother, Grandma Wells, made this quilt. It's hand-stitched and made out of old shirts and pants. I display this quilt on a black quilt rack in our entry way - it's very fragile so special care is taken with it. I have another crazy quilt she made but that one was newer brighter colors and stitched using a machine......newer as in probably still well over 60 years old.

Quilt close-up - the quilt is dated with hand embroidery - 1928. Those are Sam's Mom's initials - Daisy. There are initials for 5 others on the quilt - I'm betting Sam doesn't know who they all belong to but I think it's time to figure that out and put a label on the back of the quilt. I think one is his Uncle Leslie and Uncle Ronnie - not sure about the others. Other than Daisy I never met any of her other siblings and Sam's grandparents were long gone before we met.
